Educational Qualification: (AS ON 01.01.2019)

Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final year/ Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31.08.2019.

Age Limit (As on 01.04.2019)

The candidate’s age should not be below 21 and not more than 30 years as on 01. 04. 2019which means he/she must not be born before 01.04.1997 and not after 02.04.1988 . Check out the age relaxation for various categories in the table below.

Changes in SBI PO 2019

  • In SBI PO 2017 examination state bank has removed the sectional cut off from phase II(Mains) Examination.
  • This Year, Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the Main Examination.Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approximately) of the category wise vacancies will be shortlisted for the Group Exercise & Interview from the top of the merit list subject to a candidate scoring minimum qualifying score in aggregate.
  • The Cut Off for SBI PO Examination is common for all the states and not released separately.

SBI PO 2019 Exam Pattern:

SBI selection process for the Probationary officers exam 2019consists of 3 stages, which are:

1.Phase I – Prelims Exam

2.Phase II – Mains Exam

3.Phase III -Group Exercises (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)

Phase I – Prelims Exam:

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Test for 100 marks will be conducted online. The test will have of 3 Sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

SBI PO 2019 Mains Exam Pattern

Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after completion of the Objective Test.

Descriptive Test:

The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with two questions for 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).

*Note:Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main examination)

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

Phase – III: Group Exercises (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)

Candidates qualifying for GE & Interview under ‘OBC’ category would be required to submit OBC certificate containing the ‘Non Creamy layer’ clause. Candidates not submitting the OBC certificate containing the ‘Non Creamy layer’ clause and requesting to be interviewed under General category will not be entertained.

Final Selection

The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for preparing the final merit list for selection. Only the marks obtained in Mains Examination (Phase-II), both in Objective Test and Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in GE & Interview (Phase-III) for preparing the final merit list. The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately.

Marks secured by the candidates in the Mains Examination (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Exercises & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of Mains Examination and Group Exercises & Interview out of 100. The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category

How to apply for SBI PO 2019

  • Candidates will be required to register themselves online through Bank’s website or – Recruitment of PO 2019
  • Candidates should have valid email ID and mobile no.which should be kept active till the declaration of results. It will help him/her in getting call letter/advices etc. by email/SMS.
  • Submit the Application Form.
  • The payment can be made by using debit card/credit card/Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen. Transaction charges for online payment, if any, will be borne by the candidates.
  • On successful completion of the transaction, e-receipt and application form with fee details will be generated; which may be printed for record.
  • Take out the Print Out of the Application Form for future reference.

Admit Card for For SBI PO 2019

SBI PO preliminary examination is scheduled to be held tentatively in the month of July 2019.According to the notification examination call letter can be downloaded tentatively from June 18, 2019.Similarly, the date for download of call letter for SBI PO mains examination is tentatively from 20th July 2019. The SBI PO mains exam will be tentatively held on 04-August-2019.

How to Download Admit Card

  • Go to and click on careers section.
  • Select download SBI PO 2019call letter for preliminary examination
  • Then enter your Registration Number/Roll Number and Date of Birth/Password
  • Finally click on the submit button, your SBI PO 2019will generated and take a print.
  • The SBI PO 2019admit card is issued and available 10 days prior to the examination. It will be available in the official website of the bank. Candidates are required to download the admit card and get a printed copy of the same.


This exam will be conducted in the month of July. SBI officially releases separate sectional and overall Cut off marks for each phase of Probationary Officer selection process. Candidates need to score marks equal to or greater than those cut off marks in each phase to get selected for the subsequent stages of the SBI PO recruitment process. SBI releases Cut off marks along with the SBI PO Result  of each stage of PO selection process viz, prelims, Mains, Interview.
